Google has released Ctemplate, “a library implementing a simple but powerful template language for C++ that emphasizes separating logic from presentation. You’ve already used Ctemplate: this is the same code that formats all of the pages for Google’s web search.”

“Suck” might not be the right word here. But at least it conveys the right idea. They need major help. Google’s earnings prove that its competitors are falling behind, and although they claim to be “scrambling”, they’re not making much of an effort.

Google registered two brand new domains on April 17th: googlesubscribed.com/net/org/info and googlesubscribedlinks.com/net/org/info. Google rarely uses domains they register, but they almost always turn out to be a good indication of future functionality.
